How it works
One workplace, three lamps, one rule: approved proof turns a lamp green. Every ambassador at a workplace feeds the same three lamps.
The three lanes and what counts as proof
Reduce
Lower energy consumption, with a focus on air conditioning. Set ACs to 24 to 26 degrees C and keep them there. Switch them off in empty rooms.
Proof
- A photo of the AC display or remote showing the setpoint.
- Or a photo of a notice that sets the office AC policy.
- Numbers are optional. With them, your proof becomes an estimate of electricity and CO2e saved.

Reuse
Avoid disposables: bring your own mug, bottle, hankie. Bring your own mug, bottle and hankie, and ask colleagues to do the same.
Proof
- A photo of reusables in use at work, or of a pantry or meeting room with disposables removed.
- A count of single-use items avoided. Example: 10 colleagues for 20 days at one cup a day is 200.
Recycle
E-waste collection and recycling. Set up a labelled collection box, then hand the contents to a recycler registered on the CPCB portal.
Proof
- A photo of the collection box or of the handover.
- A photo or PDF of the recycler's receipt.
- The weight in kg as written on the receipt.

What the lamps mean
- Red. No proof yet for this lane.
- Amber. Proof is waiting for review, or the last approved proof is over 30 days old.
- Green. A proof was approved in the last 30 days.
Lamps belong to the workplace, not the person. More ambassadors at one workplace means more chances to keep a lamp green.
Common questions
Do I need my company's approval?
Registration asks whether HR or management supports this. "Not yet" is fine. Start with your own desk, then use the impact statement to make the case.
Who sees my photos?
Reviewers see every photo you send. The public sees a photo only if you agreed to photo sharing, ticked the box on that proof, and a reviewer approved it. Location data is removed from every photo on upload.
What if my proof is not accepted?
The reviewer writes a note. Fix the proof and send it again, or send a new one.
Is this an audit?
No. It is proof sent by ambassadors and reviewed by chapter volunteers. Estimates are labelled as estimates. How we count lists every factor and its source.
